PUZZELLO ARCHITECTURE PRACTICE, based in Indianapolis, is the collaborative office of architect Paul Puzzello. To a larger degree, the practice executes private and public architectural commissions and consulting, but is also involved in self-performed design and art projects, design education and research, along with digital design and fabrication methods, creating a broad, multi-disciplined portfolio of work. This approach to architecture practice expands our knowledge base, brings a higher level of innovation, helps with auto-criticism and a deeper analysis to the architectural work and services we provide. In our view, the practice of architecture is not only a profession, but also a theory lead design discipline that involves artistic exploration and continuous study of the broader cultural and social arrangement that make up human lives. Our aim is to always produce exciting contemporary design with a genuine appropriateness to each project, whether it is driven by return on investment, or simple delight.
Paul Puzzello received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ball State University, Muncie in 1992, and a Master of Architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 2006. Prior to forming Puzzello Architecture Practice in 2011, Paul worked in large architecture offices specializing in health-care design and academic buildings as well as co-owning his own architecture practice in Bloomington, Indiana for 9 years. In addition to exhibiting work as a designer, Paul continues to be a reviewer and juror of student design work at art, architecture, and design schools internationally and has formally held faculty positions in architecture and design at Indiana University; Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan; Ball State University; and currently at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis. Paul is the current board president for People for Urban Progress (PUP) in Indianapolis working in urban/public design and product development. He is NCARB certified, NCIDQ certified as an interior designer, and is a registered architect in Indiana and Ohio. Paul is also a licensed contractor in Indianapolis.
