Acoustical Privacy Screen for MRI Facility

West Lafayette, Indiana 2008

Program:

Business office privacy screen for imaging facility.

Status: Complete

Client:

Purdue University-Unity Health Joint Venture

Included as a part of the entire project, this privacy screen was designed in order to comply with strict HIPAA (patient information security) regulations in this MRI imaging clinic.  As opposed to straight, framed glass, the acrylic sheets were thermally bended and precision cnc laser cut to form a continuous frame-less appearance.  Inspired by the work of architect/researcher William E. Massie, The puzzle-piece design allows separate sheets of material to be put together with great accuracy due to the precise tolerances of cnc laser cutting technology.
